Nicholas Negroponte, chairman and founder of MIT's Media Labs, says he is developing a laptop PC that will go on sale for less than one hundred dollars. Such a tool could greatly accelerate the development of poor countries where kids could be given a laptop at school and take it home where the whole family can benefit from it. China is already banking on it, as a replacement of the old textbooks.
