Satan is much more peaceful

Sodom Our support to Steve Wells, the author of a blog about “how many people were killed by god” which you can see here.

Rael made the following comments after reading his blog: “very interesting : Steve Wells counted the total of people killed in the Bible by the "god of love and compassion" and the total is... 2,270,369 people!!! While the total of individuals killed by Satan is only ...10! So all the people passionate by love and compassion should worship Satan rather than their blood thirsty god!

It isn't surprising also that god’s believers act like their model... if anybody can count how many people were killed by god believing civilizations and compare it with people killed by "pagan" or atheist civilizations, the difference will be huge... easy to remember the crusades, colonization of the world by Christian conquistadors, wars of religion, spreading of Muslim faith by "Jihad" or "holly war" etc... but for sure there are much more and there must be billions of victims of god's believers, (of course a god of love and compassion!). Not surprising that the "people of the book", the Jews, who are "so close to god" are killing today so many Palestinians, adult and children, without any hesitation... not talking about the very Christian Georges Bush, praying every day and even "talking with god" for whom any of the 700,000 children killed in Iraq and Afghanistan are just necessary "collateral damages"... The only way to save the world is definitely to convert it to atheism ...that’s our mission!
The first Raelian ready to make the count of people killed by god's believers and atheists and send it to me for will make me happy ;-)”
I received today this comment :
Hello. Interesting article about the atrocities of this loving God. I just wanted to know, what exactly are you (Raelians) insisting? Don't forget, this Yahweh of the Jews is the same Yahweh of the Elohim you believe in don't you? I mean, all these stories couldn't just be made up. What if Yahweh actually did kill these people? Who is to stop him? After all, he is human like us and can easily show anger and wrath could he not?

Thought you'd like to see my answer:
Hi Mat
I see your point :-)
If you read what Rael wrote in "Intelligent Design, Message from the Designers" you will see that these human beings whom we call the Elohim said that what is written in the Bible is at 90% invented by men through the ages, like a legend. Some parts are real traces of their original doings or teachings, but lots of it is pure invention of men. They selected a few parts that they say are close to what really happened. You can see the selection in the first part of Rael's book.
So when we make fun of the number of people killed by god, compared to the ones killed by Satan, we try to illustrate how silly it is to believe the Bible, the way it is written. Either there is a god full of love and hence he is not killing as he is portrayed in the holy book, or there is no god but Human Beings who created us, taken for gods by our ancestors and portrayed by them with their limited level of knowledge.
The Elohim also said that they made mistakes in the past. When they destroyed the whole creation for example, thinking we were not worth living as too violent and generating too much suffering, they made a wrong decision and corrected it by re implanting life a second time and leaving us grow at our own pace, only guiding us from time to time but not interfering anymore. They are imperfect human beings and they are trying to help our imperfection:-)
Of course, as you say, we can imagine that Yahweh is a human being with all the negative emotions you are talking about, anger, etc. I questioned myself about that as well. In the same way, we can look at the world and see all the suffering and violence and say " it is not worth living in this world". But we can also look at this world and see all the beautiful and generous actions that are made by anonymous people at every moment, giving love for nothing in return. I am sure you know some around you. Then I think this world is so beautiful... I choose to trust the different Prophets who met with Yahweh and taught love after meeting him. Jesus who was talking about his father in the sky portrayed him as a loving entity. Rael who met him too, says the same thing... This version fits better with all what I have been able to read, study, or witness... It is my personal search so it is of course up to anyone to make up their mind on whether we are alive thanks to a sadistic person or thanks to a loving person. I must say that I thank those who created us every morning when I wake up for the pleasure to be alive and do my best to live up to their trust and respect...
